Curlew

Having waited to see one of the curlews standing proudly on the wall at the farm, we were lucky tonight .

We tried to park at Runswick Bay this morning but it was too busy so we went to Falling Foss Waterfall and had a coffee in the tea garden which seemed to be very popular . 

Then, we went to Ravenscar and walked on the coast path with views over Robin Hoods Bay. We had our picnic and it was wild and windy there. We inspected the Cinder Track with a view to bringing the bikes in October.

It was a last walk and a flask of tea at Sandsend and Runswick.
We were mesmerised by the diving gannets at Sandsend . 

What a display - close to the shore and bombing down into the water not always from a great height! Fantastic! I could watch them for hours .
