Day After

After yesterday’s overturning of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court, MrsP and I headed to the river for some much needed nature therapy. We enjoyed a quiet breakfast picnic with plenty of iced coffee. Not a seagull in sight but an eagle remained perched high across the river looking for his own breakfast picnic. Most of the morning’s entertainment was provided by the bandit birds, otherwise known as cedar waxwings. They plucked and gulped whole red berries as if it were their last meal • Temperatures hit 90F this afternoon but it didn’t stop MrsP and I from watering the gardens, planting a pot of zinnias or removing spent peony blossoms. The rest will have to wait until tomorrow • A cold salad, an iced cold drink and a movie will end the day • Tomorrow will be Day 2 and we’ll be just as angry…
