Bounty
Spent the morning planting out green zebra and big red tomatoes, peppers, patty pan, soleil and black beauty courgettes, along with further sowings of pak choi, mizuna, mustard greens, radish, harlequin carrots and chop suey greens. To protect the more tender plants from the wind I'm using cloches and bottomless water bottles.
The raised beds are almost full and I have dozens more plants almost ready for planting out. It'll be vegetables in the flower beds this year. When I've made the flower beds that is.
This evening we have stir-fried chicken with home-grown mustard greens and ginger for supper.
p.s. Most of our tomatoes have proper names like Marmande, Ferline and Balconi but Big Red were sent to me by my lovely Aussie relative. Why mess about with daft names when a simple description will do nicely?
