Gates

 Inspired by 59’s blip about outback gates, I went in search of gates we may have captured on our outback camping trips.

This is the road to the top of Mount Oxley, near Bourke, in outback NSW. Mount Oxley is a mesa – like inselberg (so says Wikipedia), with panoramic views across vast expanses of flat, semi arid country. There was a gate, not picturesque but serving a valuable function (extra 1). This was in the early days of our camping adventures, in 2003, and we were still driving a sedan (extra 2).
