Lights on

Completely forgot washer/dryer repairer was due 10-12. Remembered 5mns before he came so rushed to make myself presentable. After running several electronic checks he fathomed out the heating element had a ‘short leak’. It turned out element was covered in limescale (on a relatively new machine!?). Advised to use Calgon tablets or similar. Strange I’ve never had probs in all my years of not using them, but saw the affected element with my own eyes :(

So element replaced and machine seems to be working again. Meanwhile JL are coming to check the installation (re this and last machine ‘falling’ off the plinth). The repairer was surprised anti-tilt brackets hadn’t been fitted as apparently they are supplied with a new machine. So will raise with JL on Monday.

In other news, we went to Westbourne (M&S, Coffee Saloon), then to Tesco in town for water-softener tablets (cheaper than Calgon).

Back home. Mr B’s nose is doing fine. Not complaining of discomfort. Taking it easy.
