REMEMBERING DEAR ADMIRER
Hello Lovely Blippers,
Before you all get very confused and think that today is Silly Saturday, I can confirm that it is only Tuesday. The reason that we are all here today is because we wanted to remember dear Admirer, who died suddenly on 21 June 2020. We cannot believe that it is two years since she died, and we still remember her with great love and affection, along, we are sure, with many other Blippers.
Today Mr HCB had an appointment with Adam, his audiologist, at Leightons. When Mrs HCB rang to make the appointment, she spoke to Kate, the Manager, to ask if she could bring all of us in the Silly Saturday Gang. I understand that Kate’s response was, “I would be sad if you didn’t!” So you can imagine our surprise when we arrived this morning to find that Kate was working from home until the afternoon.
So, despite Kate not being there we spoke to Lauren, and to a new lady called Seb, and of course, we had to explain to her all about silly Saturday. She thought it was great fun to do something like this so we all jumped up onto the coffee table, made sure we had biscuits and generally made ourselves at home.
Mrs HCB had remembered to take the photograph of Admirer so put it up on the wall behind us all and then took lots of photographs. She did have to explain to another lady who was sitting in the waiting area all about Blip and especially about us. We have to say that Mrs HCB doesn’t worry if people think she’s silly, well it’s the truth isn’t it? We are sure that Admirer would have giggled if she had seen us all today, and especially the looks on the faces of the people waiting. Lauren let us borrow some frames - can you see that Hoggy's have slipped a little?
Mr. HCB has to go back for another appointment in early July so hopefully Kate will be there then. You know how much we love them all at Leightons - the HCBs say they get such great service there - and quite honestly, I think they love all of us too!
On the way back to the car, Mr. and Mrs HCB called into a new book shop just around the corner called “Bert’s Books”. They both had a lovely cup of coffee and a piece of delicious lemon drizzle cake, and after explaining about Blip to Alex, the owner, and Michael, who served them, you won’t be surprised to hear that Mrs HCB asked if we could all go up there one Saturday to have a look around the Children’s Book section - how could they possibly refuse?
Here is a lovely quote that Mrs HCB found yesterday by Ellen Brenneman which sums up how we all feel about dear Admirer:
“Think of her as living
in the lives of those she touched…
for nothing loved is ever lost
and she was loved so much.”
Love to you from all of us in the Silly Saturday Gang xxx
P.S. Mrs. HCB is so sorry she didn’t comment yesterday, as she had hoped to, but she was in a lot of pain and spent most of the evening sleeping. We just hope that she soon feels much better - we don’t like to see her like this.
