Duck out standing in her field

Dan wanted to expand Nancy and Sluggo's horizon and put out some movable fencing for them. That worked for a bit until Nancy (who is the brains in this operation) discovered she could just slip right under it. So away went the fence and we just let them roam. They seemed to really enjoy themselves. They discovered the chicken coop and proceeded to make their water really disgusting. The chickens were not amused. They were scared of the ducks and wanted in their coop away from them. The ducks were not threatening but the chickens just aren't sure of these things. I imagine they will get used to each other and it will all be fine.

I have to say a couple things about yesterday. As a big portion of the country is suffering from sweltering heat we were damp and chilly. We actually had a small fire burning most of the day to drive off the chill. The other is concerning singing last night. We had our warm up in Emlen Hall where we used to sing as a full choir. The building is at the local Waldorf school and is round and has the most amazing acoustics. And oh my gosh I just about burst into tears. It's been two years since we've sung in there. The 13 of us sounded so amazing. After every song we just couldn't believe the sound of singing indoors again. We sang just down the road at another nice indoor venue. I had goosebumps for most of the evening. What magic!
