Sandaig Bay

While some of the party headed off to do bigger or smaller walks up Loch Nevis, we sat around quietly for a while after breakfast before setting off to walk around the coast to Sandaig Bay. This ostensibly “easy” walk was of course quite tough as it was constantly up and down, very hummocky underfoot and rather wet. It also involved crossing a stream as we got close to Sandaig Bay, which I managed without too much loss of dignity and without getting wet. I inched my way across like a crab, going sideways, using a convenient large tree branch that had been put across the stream probably precisely for this purpose. We then walked back up to the road and along the road to Doune, which is where I took the blip from.

Although the weather was generally quite ok, relatively windy (thus keeping the midges away), and occasionally with watery sunshine, as I took this picture a smirr of haar was heading through. 

Later it brightened up considerably and there was a sunset (see extra). Another superb meal, and this time we more or less felt we deserved it after doing a reasonably long walk. After dinner, we hatched plans for tomorrow, but obviously many things are weather dependent.
