Dunstanburgh Castle and beyond

Our day out started with a walk along the coast to Dunstanburgh Castle, an imposing ruin set on a cliff. The remaining towers and walls are very solid and should last many more centuries. See extra.
There’s a small seabird colony too, with razorbills, kittiwakes and fulmars.
Back to Craster for coffee and cake, and a decision to buy kippers for taking home!
Then on to Seahouses for our boat trip around Outer Farne to see the seabirds on the cliffs, the seals hauled out and a wonderful hour on Inner Farne watching the nesting puffins, terns, razorbills and kittiwakes. It’s quite spectacular, so many birds all together.   See extra.
Pepper was very good and waited on the boat while we went ashore, and again while we got our fish and chips!
Really lovely day.
