Rewarding
Both Kitty and Verity were in Leeds today for the Centre of Advanced Training end of year performance.
Two tickets per performer so it’s always difficult to share four tickets between five people (parents and grandparents).
I made the dilemma easier by volunteering to do a front of house shift at the theatre inside the the Northern Ballet building, so it meant l could see the performance as l get a seat at the side of the audience.
Not seen Verity or Kitty perform for over two years so it was more than a thrill for me, l already knew Verity was gifted but was happily surprised to see Kitty dancing so beautifully and confidently, with such stage presence.
I sometimes get tired doing the the two back to back train journeys every week when l take her to Leeds for her ballet class after school but seeing her progress makes it more than worth the effort.
Not allowed to see the girls beforehand but Kitty did call out my name at one point before the performance and l looked up to the fifth floor and we could smile at each other.
Always surprised to see her name printed as Kathryn in the programme, she will always be Kitty to me.
