The Abbey

Today it was open. A pleasant stroll around Furness Abbey. Only 2 other people so Fletch was off lead. It was warm enough to prefer to keep to the shady areas. 

I've lost count of the times I've been there  but theres always something I seem to have never noticed before especially when looking up.

Blip is some of the elaborate stone carving which have survived 800+ years. 

Built when people lived in simple homes the Abbey must have seemed otherworldly  and awe inspiring to the locals.  It's still impressive even in its ruined state
