Red-headed Cardinal Beetle
Day #14 of #30dayswild was spent walking round Holcot Wood in Bedfordshire, carrying out a botanical survey of rides and paths. It was hot work, and included one unmown ride with abundant Common Nettle - very unpleasant to walk through! On my way round I spotted a few colourful insects, including Red-headed Cardinal Beetle a saproxylic species present in most (if not all) woodlands locally.
