Lord Bantry's Gate

Blipping and running today! Yes, it's sunny, warm and breezy and this strange and now defunct gate into Bantry House estate caught my eye. Who is the mysterious female figure in the centre and what originally flanked her on either side? It's rather flamboyant and naive.

All sorts of projects on the go at the moment and tonight we're off to a lecture about archaelogical sites around Bantry - could be good.
