The beginning

This is Thomas's pumpkin plant.  He has been nurturing it from a seed at his home and then in the growing shed on his plot and finally it is planted out. 
Thomas usually wins the prize for the largest pumpkin in the allotment association and in the extra you can see how much of his plot he is devoting to the one plant this year.
Scarily I am going to be responsible for this for about 45 days in July and August while Thomas takes his family back to Greece for a long holiday.  He is leaving a long list of instructions for me.
