3rd prize!

We attended a Jubilee fish and chip lunch in St Jean d’Angély today. We were on long trestle tables, sixty of us, in a square underneath trees to keep us cool on such a hot day, and also on the menu was a glass of Pimms and  jelly & ice cream! 
There was a raffle and lucky dip, and also a contest to see who could fly a paper plane the furthest! We had to make the paper plane first, and I took advice from a chap sitting nearby, who by coincidence I had met years ago at French classes. He was in the RAF but left the year I was born, and wasn’t an aeroplane designer or builder, but worked as an airforce postman!
Despite that, he came first and I got third prize, and this was my prize!
