The Old Doors

The weather here in Ithaca has cooled and returned to more normal June temperatures, and with a breeze, it's ideal for walking.

We set off from our villa to walk the mile into Stavros, taking in the sights, sounds and smells of this stunning Ionian island. The photo' is typical of what you see and I just love the 'wabi-sabi'ness' of it.

At Stavros we sat at a taverna and enjoyed refreshements, and had a long chat to a fellow South Walian sat next to us with his girfriend from Hull. They were over for the day from Kefalonia.

We managed to find a replacement 'beach chair' in Stavros to replace the one I broke yesterday! The villa owners were laughing as the chair was bought in the 70's in South Africa and the plastic arms weak from the sun - so not my weight - or fault!!!  They're chuffed with the higher quality replacement.

A night in tonight with a greek salad as we're out with the villa owners tomorrow. We get on so well they've become more like friends.
