A walk in the park
M still feeling rough so just me out with Fletch. Decided to go to the park for a change and then on to Tesco for food.
On the way up the tyre warning light came on..again. a bit worrying as the car hasnt moved since Wed and the tyres had been pumped up.
So after a pleasant walk with Fletch, a whizz round Tesco to buy the essentials I took Fletch and food home and then back out to the Duddon Tyres a mile from home.
Pressure was down and the lad thought the problem was the valve.. He sprayed on water and it was bubbling at the end.. air was escaping.
It should have been a simple thing to replace but nowadays technology isnt simple. The valve has a sensor on it. They didnt have a replacement and even if they got one it needs programming to the cars computer and they havent the facility to do it.
In the end he removed the valve and gave it a very good clean added a bit of sealant replaced it and it seems to be ok.
He spent some time working on it. I was there over an hour and he only charged me £10
I phoned Jim Walton at Toyota who said they always have the valve in stock but would have first done what the lad at Duddon had done anyway. Jim said it should be ok.
I do hope so. Anything to do with technology not working really makes me anxious especially when the Toyota garage is 64 miles away.
Thank you everybody for the comments and stars , always appreciated.
