We've done it!

On June 12th 2021, we started a repeat climbing of the Wainwright Fells. The 214 fell tops featured in his 7 guide books of his "Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland Fells" We wondered if it would be possible for us to climb them in a year.

Ended with a fabulous walk from the Old Dungeon Gill up Rossett Pike, over Great End, then Esk Pike and finally finishing on Bowfell (extra 2), a small champagne by the Great Slab of Bowfell (extra 1) to celebrate and a pint on the Old Dungeon Gill to finish.

Rossett Pike: 211/214
Great End: 212/214
Esk Pike: 213/214
Bowfell: 214/214

Over the 362 days it took us we managed (purely on the challenge):

91 walks
Almost 750 miles of walking
Over 1,900,000 steps
178,000 feet of climbing - more than 6 times up Everest.

and we wonder why we feel tired!

My poor old boots have hung on valiantly through the challenge - but despite resoling a couple of years back they are now well and truly knackered - so this is probably their last big walk.
