Staircase
On the motor up through Corran narrows at the back of ten and then into the sea lock just before the staff went aff for their lunch. No boats coming through they declare, you’ll get up the staircase and through to Gairlochy. Aye, right. There was a boat. So it was after 3pm when we started up the locks. Hot work, especially for young K who did all the bank work. And he’s prone to sunburn so he suffered a bit despite layers of sun cream. So that was it. Banavie at the top of the locks was as far as we got. But at least it meant after my cooking that it wasn’t too far to walk back for a little refreshment, the evening sun on Ben Nevis quite stunning.
