Cheers, Ma’am!
JR took the car along to the gym this morning, but took it easy with her exercises. She thinks her foot feels ‘better’.
We took a walk down to the Meadows - the Meadows Festival was on. The usual rubbish bric-a-brac and a live band bashing out loud shouty music. Actually, though the sun was shining, there was the usual cool wind - my hatless head was freezing!
The others walked a bit further, but I hurried home. We had had vaguely thought of taking a picnic down to the Gardens, where bands (brass, pipe - not pop) were playing for the Jubilee. But the chilly breeze put us off, so we had a wee picnic in our back garden instead.
I cut the grass first thing, and by the time Hazel came over, mid afternoon, the sun had come out, the wind had dropped and we were WARM! Good change of plan.
JR made Coronation chicken in wee lettuce leaf pockets - delicious. She didn’t help us much with the rosé because she has her last body scan tomorrow at Body Street, but later on she got an email saying the trainer had Covid, so she had to re-schedule her session anyway. Never mind.
I recorded the Jubilee procession in the afternoon, and when it got too cold outside, we came inside to watch it. Jings it went on for HOURS! SO many people involved. It was better on fast forward… Queenie must be very pleased and humbled with the effort everyone has put in for the Platinum Jubilee Weekend.
