Amandine's Plot Treize

GARLIC!

I noticed a few days ago that my garlic was flowering and a couple of allotment friends said theirs was ready so I thought I'd dig one plant out to see if mine was too.

I was ecstatic when I saw the size and quality of the bulbs, which had properly separated.

I've *never* managed to grow such good garlic before!! In previous years, I ended up with small bulbs and cloves that failed to separate, or rust-affected, slightly rotten cloves. The only thing I did differently this year was to plant it really early in the autumn (September) and apply garlic fertiliser I got from the Garlic Farm when I visited in December.

With 16 bulbs, I might have to learn how to braid it. I'm storing it in the shed for now and will deal with it when it's dried a bit.
