Gooseberries

Most of my soft fruit bushes are now cropping. I don't tend to bother netting them as I'm happy to share the fruit with the birds. If I start losing a lot, I'll pop a bit of jute netting over them.

I don't have much time to fuss over soft fruit this weekend as my new shed is going up - I was on the plot from 8am to 6pm yesterday helping my friend who's building it dig in slabs, carry materials etc, and then catching up with gardening.

I'm absolutely shattered today, I think Day 2 of the bank holiday is going to be gentle weeding, sowing and planting! Who says bank holidays are for resting and relaxing?
