CannyScot's Day

Pieris Katsura

A lovely warm day

We both attended a volunteer appreciation event for our work in the community. It was like a street party but it was just co-incidental with the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. We were very fortunate with weather, though it is June and the warm weather seems to have been a long time coming. There was lots of sandwiches and cakes and live music, rounded off by award vitrification. It was all funded by the City Council as a recognition that so many groups are the glue which keeps communities together.

A rest in the garden before going out again to a Quiz Night fundraiser on behalf of our granddaughter and her dance group who have won their way through to the World Finals of Contemporary Dance in Blackpool, later in the year.

I shall need to recover quickly from all this activity, since I am preaching tomorrow morning.

The flower is a lovely bush - a Pieris Katsura - which is in our front garden.
