Drummond Castle Gardens

For Outlander fans, you might recognize these gardens.  They served as a stand in for Versailles in France for one of the episodes. The castle is known for its gardens, described by Historic Environment Scotland as "the best example of formal terraced gardens in Scotland."  The house is not open to the public as it is currently occupied by Jane Heathcote-Drummond-Willoughby, 28th Baroness Willoughby de Eresby. Henry couldn’t resist the opportunity to play his pipes over looking these stunning gardens.  A bit early for the summer flowering season, they were nonetheless impressive.  Lunch afterwards at the Auchterarder Golf Club where David plays.  We needed to be back mid afternoon as they were having friends arrive for an overnight stop.
