Whoppers!

Today’s ‘adventure’ took us to Largo Church and then onto the second fairway of the 9 hole course of Lundin Links Ladies Golf Course.

The Entry Photo shows the Three Standing Stones. They date from the Bronze Age (2000-1500BC). 

A club tournament was concluding as we arrived. The Vice Captain, Staff and Players were very helpful in giving us safe passage to the stones.

The club have a page of their website devoted to the stones. This gives a very full account of the history of this Scheduled Monument.

Whoppers was the name given by the local postie who photographed on many occasions.

The extra photo shows the Pictish stage in a protected cage in the grounds of Largo Church. It has been badly damaged anc repaired. It is also quite badly eroded.
