Drip, drip, drip…
We came home from a brief time out this morning to water falling from the hall ceiling lights.
A call to our tried and tested plumber who was here within minutes ( he was on his way to another local call) and three hours later he left having done a grand job. He’d taken up carpet on the landing, lifted floorboards and a large bathroom floor tile and found the cause of the leak; a wrongly placed screw in a floorboard had made a hole in a water pipe but had somehow been keeping the water back for goodness knows how long. Apparently if he had a combi boiler things would have been much worse.
The residue of water took some hours to clear but the drip has now stopped. This evening we’ve not put power back on in the lighting circuit, allowing good time for drying out. The hall ceiling will need re papering and painting, but all is well and there has been far more water falling outside today.
