Roter Fingerhut
The title is the German name for common foxglove, meaning “red thimble”.
This plant has just appeared in our hedge. It’s one of many that self-seeded in the garden. I really like foxglove, so I let them grow - they add some colour at a time when many other flowers have already finished. And the bumblebees love them, too.
