Grey Heron

When I got to the loch this morning I spotted the male flying down the loch towards me. I went as fast as I could away from the young one's spot to avoid trouble. The male landed on the grass at the side of the path round the loch. I tried to feed him there but the young one was on him in a flash chasing him along the path much to the amazement of people walking in the other direction along the path. He eventually came across a gap in the trees and flew off. The young one circled and landed in front of me she had a fair bit of fish on the grass then flew over the fence round the loch. I continued feeding her but was conscious of movement on the path to my left. I turned and saw what I thought was the male again but it was the other female. I fed them both alternatively the older female on the path and the young one in the water. When they were finished I made my way round to see the male. I found him hiding in the irises. When he spotted me he walked to a clearing and got his fish.
It was more sedate this afternoon and they all got a fair share. The crow was there this morning and got a bit of whitebait.
