Climbing Mecca

Skaha Bluffs is a destination for climbers along with Squamish near Vancouver. The variety here is way better with 650 routes up to 250' with climbs for all levels ranging from 5-3 to 5-13.
Although I come from a family of climbing pioneers in Scotland, I prefer to keep both feet on the ground and hike around the cliffs. It was a beautiful calm day up there today and these three joined a group at the base of the cliff. There were 3 dogs, a bunch of climbers and a girl with a baby hanging out waiting their turn for their own first ascent. The air was fragrant with the scent of the Saskatoon berry blossom and with no wind you could hear the sound of happy climbers in all directions.
It's so wonderful to hike around up there as the climbs are all spread around a huge area with several ridges in between and I'm always discovering new routes for the calorie burn with Angus. I love to be out there amongst people who love the great outdoors as much as me!
