Shhhhhh, its

As you will probably gather from my blips, I LOVE FOOD!!!
However, I hate food waste. In a bid to combat this, we’ve been trialling the ‘Too good to go’ app.

It’s been a bit hit and miss, but the hits have largely made up for the misses. Until today.

On Saturday, my Mum and I each rescued a box of stuff from our local Morrisons; it was a decent haul but I spied that the four different lots of cheese we’d been given were all massively out of date, ranging between the 10th & 13th of May (we got our boxes on the 21st).

However, the disclaimer on the app states that ‘best before’ is fine to use after the date, so long as it looks and smells ok.
Use by has to be used by. Fair enough.

I took it on trust (against my better judgement) and had this cottage cheese for lunch today. Sure enough, it looked, smelled and tasted fine, but I’ve spent the whole afternoon toggling between belly ache and the loo!

An email has been dispatched almost as quickly as my bowels to express my displeasure. I’ll see what they say :-/
