Ennerdale exit

The weather forecast was for high winds today so not a good one for hills tops. We stayed low and did a forest walk along the river Liza. The hostel manager suggested this one and really undersold it to us but it turned out to be quite lovely. The river meandered along and then ran through rocky gorges. Various clear pools looked almost tempting to swim in - almost.
The dogs enjoyed another good walk - Pip, the older one was slightly creaky after yesterday’s hills (to be fair, it wasn’t just the dog that was creaky).
This was our last day in Ennerdale and we left, promising to return some day - and tackle the Steeple. Next stop Borrowdale - a bigger hostel and lots of walking routes to choose from.
