Hill Day

Big day out on the hills of Ennerdale along with 2 very happy dogs who couldn’t believe their luck.
Tackled Haycock, Scoat Fell and round the Steeple - descending from Wind Gap. Loving the names of these lakeland hills - so much easier to pronounce than the Scottish mountains!
It was a pretty cloudy day and we had moments when the tops around us were covered but the wind soon blew it clear again. This is a less walked area of the Lakes, still folk around at the top though heading off in different directions. Our route down from the ridge looked like a decent path on the map but felt rather off piste with little sign of a path to follow. But it was mostly fine -apart from the boggy patches and a short scrabble through trees!
Fun to return to the hostel and share stories with the other guests.
