Dun an Oir and more
Still windy but less in the way of showers. Today Rod and I delivered the walking party to a section of the Kerry Way that had been missed due to the weather earlier in the week. We then moved to Dun an Oir to recover the walkers. Dun an Oir was the sight of a bloody siege in 1580 when an army of Irish,Spanish and Italian troops land to join the Desmond Rebellion. When the British government found out they sent troops led by Lord Grey . After three days the siege ended with the fort over run and 600 lives lost. In extras today the memorial and another coastal landscape! Thank you for looking.
