Artichokes

My parents have always specialized in artichokes and they were a family favourite and bountiful growing up.  So this plant in Mum’s current house is well established and this year full of artichokes to come.  I contemplated taking a few small ones and eating them raw as the Italians do but I am not sure they are the same plant and didn’t want to waste them.  I will look them up.

At the end of the afternoon I went over to my mother’s to discuss what she needs to take for a trip to Dorset tomorrow with two local friends.  Popped up to see the lead friend whose family cottage they are going to.  She’s 94 and full of beans!
