Carole and David visit

It’s lovely to have Carole and David visit again after so long. I have known Carole for almost 40 years from when we met on the CND bus to Molesworth when we lived in Suffolk. It turned out she lived in the next village and taught at the local high school where #1 daughter was about to start. We’ve been close friends ever since.

We had a quick walk up on the moor. On our way through the woods #2 daughter phoned, quite upset. The school are wanting to have James tested for dyslexia. I think it’s good they are going down that route. We all knew there was a problem as he’s 7 and seems so articulate yet still struggles with reading. I’m sure now there are a lot of strategies to help children like him, and it must be good to get it sorted early.

Apart from that it’s been a lovely evening. We were going to meet #3 daughter and children for a beach walk in the morning but the allotment inspectors are coming this weekend and she’s needing to deal with the nettle patch at the end of the path at her new allotment. They will obviously be a lot stricter than the MET about infringements to the rules.
