Puffin #63
Another good day, but no albatross. The puffins were a bit more numerous than yesterday (about 10 instead of 3!) and a tad closer, so today's blip just had to be one. No sand eels as it's a bit early for chicks apparently. I spent ages trying to get a flying shot of a puffin and failed miserably. They are fast little things and fly quite a long way below you, with not so many chances to focus on them. I will try again tomorrow, but the day is supposed to be a lot duller.
The afternoon was pretty warm and we eventually got a short sighting of the barn owl which was nice. When we got back to the hotel, we sat in the courtyard gardens and watched the swallows flitting in and out of the eaves. In extras is one that landed for a few seconds taking in the sunshine. I didn't even try to get a flight shot of them! :)
Thanks so much for all the hearts, stars and comments for yesterday's gannets. I will thank you all individually when I get home.
