Between fen and mountains

Flora and fauna are of the Pyrenees

Today’s walk took us high, above 2,100 metres. The wildflowers were out in abundance including orchids and gentians (see extras) and we took in all three peaks of the Très Estelles. It was a lovely walk marred only by the fact that we had two fallers. It was a very rocky, rough path and Mrs TT took a tumble fortunately only rolling onto her back and slightly bruising her hip. Our leader, Rob, fell more awkwardly and rolled a couple of metres gracing his hand and arm. When we were nearly back, he realised he had lost his watch in the fall so four of us climbed back up a kilometre or so to the spot where had fallen and fortunately recovered his watch.
