Living my dream

This morning was spent in town, where I had my ‘flu vaccination. To my surprise the nurse came out to my car, rather than me going into the clinic. I guess they are being super Covid alert, and it does make it an even simpler process than it is anyway.

There are concerns about the likelihood of a big flu outbreak in NZ this winter because we’re now getting international visitors after two years of being protected when borders were closed. There were barely any ‘flu cases in 2020 or 2021.

After the needle I drove up to the Lookout and we walked round the Cape Wanbrow reserve. As you can see we have had the bluest of blue sky again. This view caught my eye thanks to the glistening sun on the tiny fishing boat heading down the coast, and the banks of cloud on the horizon pretending to be land.

Back home I completed composting the onion bed, dug over the rhubarb bed, and dug a couple of tree holes in the next area of planting. That was enough.

Bean did the sunshine shuffle, from her bed on the deck in the full sun to the shade of the truck, backwards and forwards.
