Then and now
Today we decided to stay away from the beach and pool as I have managed to turn my legs a delicate and uncomfortable shade of pink! All these years in India spending time in much hotter temperatures and I manage to turn my legs pink here!
We decided to get the Dolmus, local minibus service, to Fethiye.
One of the things I love about Turkey is the amount of ancient history available around every corner. This sarcophagus tomb is on the main street, just next to an amphitheatre which is currently being restored. The tomb is Lycian and dates from around 350BC. The amphitheatre dates from 200BC and is in the process of being restored. The second half of the collage shows an enormous circular saw used for cutting the stone blocks. It's around 8 ft in diameter and is a reminder that when this was originally built, such things didn't exist.
