Art in Bloom

Roger was doing some Trustee duties at church this morning, but then late morning we drove downtown to see the Art in Bloom event at the Art Museum. The event is held every other year, previously in the Fall, this is the first year it is occurring in the Spring. There were about 80 arrangements, created by floral professionals and amateur enthusiasts. Designers chose a specific artwork—including paintings, sculptures and ceramics—and created their corresponding arrangement using live flowers.
In some designs, you could see they had used some shape or lines and colours from the artwork, whilst in others, the connection or inspiration wasn’t so clear. Nonetheless, it made for a beautiful few hours - beautiful art and gorgeous flower arrangements!
