Exhausting exploration!

Wow! Today was a wonderfully hectic one.
Following such a late night last night we were up early & out roaming around the city.
We decided that since all the tourist sights would be equally as available tomorrow, we'd try & find some hidden treasures today & not risk them being closed tomorrow.
El Ravel wasn't quite so daunting in the bright Barcelona sunshine, with the playful cries of children & a mix of people going about their business.
We meandered through the "colorful" alleyways along to the tourist trap of Las Ramblas & down to the harbor, soaking up the little shops, flea antique markets & sun on our shoulders along the way.
We strolled back up through the Gothic Quarter experiencing much of the same but this time sights were of a religious persuasion. We constantly grazed on bar tapas, ice creams & pastries as we went.
The trendy district of Born lead us back to its polar opposite neighbor & our apartment, where we refreshed & headed back out to the Saturday nightlife.
This picture was taken in one of the countless unexpected plazas en-route to Born, where we were solely illuminated by the ambient street lighting.

I really like it, he doesn't...!

After our al fresco eats (& Sangria- how could I not?!), a stroll back & 2 hour nightcap got us home at about 1 or 2am....
Exhausted, but happy that we'd had so much fun together.
