Baillie Street

Into town for a haircut.

This morning we had our gas heating boiler serviced. We have a service contract with the boiler supplier, which has been transferred to a product insurance company who sub-contract the work to a heating engineer.  The very helpful engineer found that a part needed replacing. To proceed with that he needed a code number, authorising the work. I had to ring the boiler company, where after two rounds of the "if you need x, press button 1" etc game, I was transferred to the insurance company.  After another two rounds there, the assistant said they could authorise the works to be done on 9 June.  I patiently explained that the repair engineer was standing next to me, with the replacement part, ready to instal it. Grudgingly, she gave me the code and now all is well. What fun.
