LOOK WHAT I FOUND

This is a Ground Hornbill (Bucorvus leadbeateri) and he lives at the zoo in Milwaukee as part of an African grasslands exhibit. Less than attentive visitors occasionally drop things into the enclosure....sunglasses, cell phones, baby bottles, plastic pieces of things, etc.

This particular bird likes to grab whatever he finds lying in the grass. He has learned that if he picks up what he finds and transports it to the main door, sooner-or-later, a zoo keeper will show up with a tasty mouse to eat in exchange for whatever the bird has found.

Seems like a quid pro quo to me.
