In search of …….

….. the MockTurtle. It is after all “find something in the Alice books” mono Monday. No mock turtle at Leighton Moss this afternoon though. There are dormice not far away, but they’ll all be asleep.

However, the swifts have arrived, the bitterns are booming (that’s the extraordinary sound they make at this time of year), and the sand martins are skimming over the pools. And this chap is I think stalking a reed warbler. They are noisy, but difficult to see through the reeds.
