Loooooong day out at Soar Valley show.. We only entered a couple of classes as we're not really a showing family and don't have the gear out any idea what's involved. It was more about getting out and about and having a go.
We entered the lead rein jumping which was supposed to kick off at 9.30 but didn't start till 10.15 so a lot of hanging about after getting there early to walk the course. I'd go as far as to say Eva is petrified of jumping, although perfectly capable hence the lead rein. Unfortunately I'm not fit or fast so she was held back by me! She still managed to come third though. I'll have to get in training if we're going to do any more.
Then we waited about 3 1/2 hrs to the next class which was first ridden. It was running about 2 hrs late. We were pretty bored! Both did well as my big worry was he'd pull his head down to eat and she wouldn't be able to get it back up again! But he behaved and she got another 3rd frilly.
A successful day overall for our first show.
