Jack Joke and Jack Rabbit
Another glorious rainy day for us. I made scones, muffins, and cookies right after breakfast. Then we headed to school for Mackenzie’s play, “The Ballad of the Lost Heirloom.” Never heard if it? Neither have we but it was cute and the students did a great job. The girl in the lavender dress was a riot, a perfect part for her sparkly personality. Mack was Jack Joke, the saloon owner. I am so glad we were able to attend the matinee as Kristen was at a basketball tournament. This sweet bunny met us as we pulled back into the driveway. Since it was raining, Parker’s game in the next county was cancelled - what a blessing. We were able to finish our jobs and get a short nap before 5:00 pm Mass. Kim and her family stopped by right before Mass and showered me with lovely gifts for Mother’s Day since we may not see them tomorrow. I shared some of the chicken salad and scones I made for the trip, two of their favs. Hubby gave her a bottle of limoncello since she also enjoys an occasional glass. Lauren will stop by soon and Kristen hopes to get by after the evening play performance. My son and DIL are making our Mother’s Day breakfast. So, it has been another wonderful day at our home. Sure hope you can say the same. Have not had time for any news updates. Maybe it is simply too depressing so I am temporarily avoiding the news. To all you mothers who will be celebrating tomorrow, have a Blessed Mother’s Day. And may everyone enjoy a calm and restful weekend. "From the start is has been the theater's business to entertain people. It needs no other passport than fun." - Bertolt Brecht
