Family Portrait
OK ….another diversion from flora and fauna. Not that this isn’t really what Island life is all about.
As I was walking late morning by the neighbors dock I heard their boat horn sounding incessantly back near our dock. Aha, good timing…It’s our wonderful neighbors Steve and Colleen who had a tiny cabin in the early days with a 3 year old boy we watched grow up to this big tall guy (pro volleyball player) with a darling little wife (they got married on the beach here)... Over the years they’ve fixed a septic pump of mine, brought lots of groceries and wine by boat, helped with boats and floats, and much more … to say nothing of watching the place when we weren’t allowed here. And now I got to meet Lillian, the next generation (the baby I made the knit Lily the Lamb for) (she sleeps with it ), on her first trip here….(They live in Kamloops now.) So I had to post this to be in my blip book. I had the big lens on so had to get far away! Going down there with Herb and a bottle of wine soon.
(Edit; actually they all came here … it was so fun!!!!)
Saw 2 other neighbors briefly ( one brought fresh eggs from his chickens, one Is trying to build a pole for our docks to help in and out of boats). and had a good chat with an old friend on zoom.
Whew…so much for this being a hermit day. Turantot live from the met on the studio stereo.
