Day 4 - Wooler to Holy Islsnd

After a few very challenging but unforgettable days, Mr P and I finally reached the sea today!
It was a v early start (left Wooler at 7.15am) after a sleepless night. I wasn’t sure that I would be able to walk the 18 miles as I also had a dodgy tum but miraculously I made it!
One of the trickiest things today was to climb over and under the fallen trees on the path. An RAF group helped us as did our friend Martin who had reccied the walk. We opted to walk along the causeway rather than cross the sands and reached Holy Island just before 2pm. Our friends Piers and Rosemary were there to meet us and drive us home. We celebrated with coffee and cake from the Pilgrims Coffee House. Mr P took them out for a meal at the Sitooterie in Innerleithen tonight to thank them. Unfortunately I felt too exhausted to join them or even to vote. Bath and early night for me.
