Night Owl

Had to cast around for something to photograph today - settled on this little bronze owl that I bought Mrs C for her last birthday. You can see how small it is from the fact it’s standing in the TV remote, but it really is incredibly detailed.
After buying a new shower head yesterday, Sods Law dictated that the hose gave up the ghost today. I managed to find a replacement so hopefully tomorrow morning’s shower will only see water spraying from where it’s intended.
A few bits of good news today. I bought some Premium Bonds a couple of months back and, in the first draw for which they were eligible, I won a small prize. I had an issue with Tax Codes for my pensions that needed resolving, and had resigned myself to a long and tortuous phone call to get it sorted. But I thought I would just try the HMRC website first, and was very pleased to see that it has been totally revamped since I last visited. I was able to make all the changes I wanted quickly and easily. As an added bonus, I was also able to confirm that the various voluntary NI contributions I made over the last two years have increased my forecast State Pension to almost the maximum I can get. Something to look forward to in four years time! Managed to fit in a session in the gym this afternoon. Didn’t really feel like it but managed some good weights in the end.
And the best news of all was that we have a replacement cast member for the play. It’s going to mean a lot of hard work for the next month, but it will be worth it if the production can go ahead as planned.
