Who planted those trees?

Today was the walk we had organised for the group.  We changed the route as the restaurant we had picked for lunch originally was closed on a Wednesday.  We have done this walk a number of times and it ticked all the boxes in terms of distance, scenery, bluebells and views.  We spotted these trees all planted in a row, T pointed out they must have been planted along a drive way or similar for a grand house - however no house nearby?  Seems strange they ended up in a straight line naturally?

The weather was kind and we got back to the pub just as it was looking like rain.  Good food and chat and only one bottle of wine this time!  Home late afternoon to relax and do nothing, except watch three episodes of Bridgerton.
